Coach Mike BarrieMike began coaching in 2016/2017 and hasn’t looked back since. He jumped at the opportunity to be part of the Crush family and assisted coached the 13u white team in 2019. The team ended the season ranked 17th (out of 229) in OVR. Also coached throughout the summer of 2019 with Crushettes camp, and open gyms. While continuing to learn from the best coaches at Crush he implements his own values; which are fundamentals of the game, and motivating the athletes, all while continuing to keep it fun for them. Mike has had the opportunity to attend a coaching clinic at North Carolina State University held by Gold Medal Squared (GMS). Mike is currently coaching 8th grade volleyball at Nagel Middle School this season, which he hopes to help transition the kids to be prepared for the next level of volleyball for the athletes, whether that be club, high school, and/or both.
Mike is a total sport fanatic, but when he isn’t watching/participating in them, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Silvia, and daughter Via. Mike is certified in the following:
