Coach Sarah Sauer

Sarah Sauer fell in love with the game of volleyball in 8th grade and never looked back.  She played high school and club volleyball as a setter and defensive specialist and was recognized as a 2nd Team All-City setter her senior year.  Sarah enjoyed playing intramurally during college and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012.  For the past 7 years, she has taught high school English at Miami Valley Christian Academy and coached middle school, junior varsity, and assisted varsity coaches Amy Gill and Paige McElfresh.  Sarah plays recreationally with her husband Cody and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching.  Her coaching philosophy starts with athleticism and fundamentals that develop a player’s passion for teamwork and excellence and she is a firm believer that the most important opponent to beat is yourself.  ​
